About Better Paths Counseling

Life’s challenges—whether grief, anxiety, loss, broken relationships, isolation or spiritual doubts—can leave you feeling overwhelmed and searching for hope, which is where Better Paths steps in to offer clarity and healing. My services provide compassionate, faith-based guidance rooted in Scripture, helping you navigate your struggles with God’s wisdom and love. Through personalized sessions, I assist you in applying biblical truth to the troubles of life, offering practical solutions, personal growth, and lasting change.

Jason Stubblefield has 10+ years of biblical counseling experience in various ministry settings, including college ministry, marriage and family ministry, and pastoral ministry. Jason received his Bachelor’s degree in History from The University of Mississippi in Oxford, MS. He graduated seminary from the Sovereign Grace Pastors College in 2012, and is currently pursuing his Master of Divinity from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, as well as Certificatificate from the Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation (CCEF). Besides counseling, Jason enjoys serving as a non-staff pastor at his church, running, pickleball, Ole Miss football, trying to play golf, creating fun memories with his family, reading biographies, and cooking on his Blackstone. Jason and his wife, Judith Ann, have four children and live in Franklin, TN.

As Biblical Counselor, Jason uses Scripture to inform and shape the content of his counsel as well as the methodology according to which he practices. While Scripture is not an instruction handbook on how to manage every possible scenario you face in life, it does ultimately point us to a relationship with Jesus Christ, the one who understands our troubles and is ready to help us experience real change while navigating the challenges of life in a fallen world.

Jason’s fee is $175 per 80-minute session, and $150 per 60-minute session. In addition to in-person counseling, I also do virtual counseling via Zoom. My general areas of counsel include: Addiction / Anger / Anxiety / Depression / Grief & Loss / Fear / Identity & Purpose / Marriage & Family Life / Sexuality & Shame / Mental Health / Dating & Friendships / Healthy Communication & Conflict Resolution. Helping You Apply God’s Truth to Life’s Troubles.

  • "God does not accept me just as I am; He loves me despite how I am. He loves me just as Jesus is; He loves me enough to devote my life to renewing me in the image of Jesus."

    — David Powlison

  • "A biblical approach to change focuses on someone other than ourselves. Change starts, proceeds, and ends with Jesus. We look to Jesus and away from ourselves."

    — Edward Welch

  • "If God truly does care for me, if he has a tender affection toward me, then he is trustworthy with what is on my heart. I can tell him what I’m feeling, even when it’s unprocessed or ugly."

    — Alasdair Groves

  • "The more we look to what is eternal and truly meaningful, the more the things of this world grow strangely dim."

    — Julie Lowe
